Abstract:
This active material, which is used in a secondary battery, contains a heterocyclic compound that contains one or more pyrazine rings and two or more benzene rings, or a salt or derivative of this heterocyclic compound. It is preferable that at least four oxygen atoms are bonded to the benzene rings in the heterocyclic compound. This active material, which is used in a secondary battery, may contain phenazine, or a salt or derivative thereof. With respect to the above-described phenazine and the likes, it is preferable that at least four oxygen atoms are bonded to a benzene ring that is contained in the phenazine structure.
