Abstract:
An additive for forming a sand mold according to the present invention is foamed and added into a sand composition that is used for the formation of a sand mold; and this additive contains (A) an alkyl sulfonic acid metal salt wherein an alkyl group has from 9 to 22 carbon atoms. This additive for forming a sand mold may additionally contain at least one substance that is selected from among (B) an alkyl sulfuric acid metal salt, (C) a polyoxyalkylene alkyl ether sulfuric acid ester metal salt and (D) an alkylbenzene sulfonic acid metal salt.
