Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an adhesive layer which is applicable to a configuration wherein at least one of polarizer protective films conventionally formed on both surfaces of a polarizer is omitted, and which has excellent light leakage prevention properties and durability.
[Solution] An adhesive layer for polarizing plates, which is characterized by being formed from an adhesive composition that contains: a (meth)acrylic copolymer which has a photoelastic coefficient of from -200 × 10-12 to +200 × 10-12 (m2/N) and comprises a constituent unit derived from an alkyl (meth)acrylate ester having a photoelastic coefficient of a homopolymer of from -1,000 × 10-12 to -100 × 10-12 (m2/N) and a constituent unit derived from an aromatic ring-containing (meth)acrylate ester having a photoelastic coefficient of a homopolymer of from +500 × 10-12 to +2,000 × 10-12 (m2/N); and an isocyanate crosslinking agent having no aromatic ring. This adhesive layer for polarizing plates is also characterized by having a photoelastic coefficient of from -200 × 10-12 to +200 × 10-12 (m2/N) and being arranged directly on a polarizer.
