Abstract:
[Problem] To provide: an adsorbent having improved durability and improved ability to adsorb a substance to be adsorbed; and a method for producing an adsorbent, the method being capable of producing said adsorbent. [Solution] An adsorbent according to the present invention is used while being filled into a column, and is composed of a powder comprising a particle composed of a hydroxyapatite or a fluoroapatite in which at least a portion of a hydroxyl group of the hydroxyapatite is substituted with a fluorine atom, the adsorbent satisfying the following conditions that: the powder is composed of a porous body having pores; the average particle diameter of the powder is 10 μm to 90 μm; the average compression particle strength of the powder is 7.4 MPa to 8.9 MPa; and the most frequent pore diameter in the pore size distribution of the powder is 32.0 nm 60.0 nm.
