Abstract:
Provided is an adsorption method for one or more elements belonging to the fourth to sixth periods and Groups 3-15 of the periodic table. This method includes: preparing mesoporous alumina satisfying at least one of (1) to have a surface hydroxyl-group content of 3.5 mmol/g or greater, (2) to have a low-temperature CO2 desorption in temperature-rising CO2 desorption analysis of 5 μmol/g or greater, and (3) to have a low-temperature NH3 desorption in temperature-rising NH3 desorption analysis of 25 μmol/g or greater; and bringing a liquid containing one or more elements to be adsorbed into contact with the mesoporous alumina to thereby adsorb the elements onto the mesoporous alumina. The elements to be adsorbed are one or more elements selected from the group consisting of elements belonging to the fourth to sixth periods and Groups 3-15 of the periodic table.
