Abstract:
The present invention provides an aerial photography system and a method suitable for using an unmanned aerial vehicle equipped with a visible light camera and a millimeter-wave radar to image a structure with the visible light camera and the millimeter-wave radar onboard the unmanned aerial vehicle. A drone (100) constituting the aerial photography system is equipped with a visible light camera (120) and a millimeter-wave radar (130). When imaging a structure, a processor in the drone (100) controls the visible light camera (120) to acquire, by the visible light camera, a visible light image of the surface layer of the structure, and controls the millimeter-wave radar (130) to transmit a millimeter wave toward the structure and receive a reflected wave of the millimeter wave from the structure. While the drone (100) is in flight, the altitude of the drone (100) is measured by an altimeter installed onboard the drone (100), and altitude information indicating the measured altitude is acquired and used when flying the drone (100).
