Abstract:
An aerosol-generating device according to an embodiment includes: a heater for heating an aerosol-generating article accommodated in a receiving space of the aerosol-generating device; a battery for supplying power to the heater; a temperature sensor for measuring the temperature of the aerosol-generating article; and a processor which controls the power supplied from the battery to the heater, according to a preset temperature profile including a preheating period and a heating period, wherein the processor may detect, in the preheating period on the basis of the temperature of the aerosol-generating article, whether the amount of moisture in the aerosol-generating article is within an appropriate range, and adjust the duration of the preheating period, according to whether the amount of moisture in the aerosol-generating article is within the appropriate range.
