Abstract:
In a device for detecting whether or not a smoking article is inserted into a device, it is desirable that accurate detection is possible even in a case where a detection unit that detects capacitance and is provided in the device has been downsized. This aerosol generation device generating aerosol comprises: a holding portion that holds an aerosol forming base body including an aerosol source; a heating unit that heats the aerosol source; a detection unit that detects a plurality of values of a capacitance sensor; and a control unit that calculates a moving average value of the detected plurality of values of the capacitance sensor, and determines at least one of insertion, inserted or not, and withdrawal of the aerosol forming base body into/from the holding portion, by using the calculated moving average value and a preset threshold value.
