Disclosed are an air conditioner and a defrosting control method therefor, the method comprising the following steps: when an air conditioner receives a defrosting end signal during a defrosting process, controlling a compressor (10) such that same is turned off, and controlling the diversion of a four-way valve (20) after a delay of a first pre-set period of time; after the diversion of the four-way valve (20) is complete, controlling the compressor (10) such that same is turned on; acquiring a normal frequency up-conversion rate of the compressor (10), acquiring a current frequency up-conversion rate of the compressor (10) based on the normal frequency up-conversion rate and controlling the frequency up-conversion of the compressor (10) based on the current frequency up-conversion rate, wherein the current frequency up-conversion rate is less than the normal frequency up-conversion rate. The method controls the frequency down-conversion and up-conversion rates of the compressor (10) when the air conditioner switches from a defrosting mode to a heating mode, thereby effectively preventing the temperature at an outlet of a throttling element (50) from being too low such that a flocculent flow of lubricating oil blocks the throttling element (50).
