Abstract:
Provided is an air conditioner for a vehicle with which it is possible to reduce discomfort to an occupant caused by cold air-conditioning air being supplied when a heating operation has been started immediately after starting the vehicle. This air conditioner 1 for a vehicle comprises: a general air-conditioning unit 3 including a general introduction port 32 into which air-conditioning air that has passed through a general temperature adjusting element 31 is introduced, general blow-out ports 30f, 30r facing a vehicle cabin interior 95, and a general duct 33 connecting the general introduction port 32 and the general blow-out ports 30f, 30r; a housing 5 disposed on a lateral side of a front seat 90 in the vehicle cabin interior 95; and a proximity air-conditioning unit 2 including a proximity temperature adjusting element 21 that has a temperature adjuster 21h and a blower 21b and is disposed inside the housing 5, a proximity introduction port 22 into which air-conditioning air that has passed through the proximity temperature adjusting element 21 is introduced, a proximity blow-out port 20 exposed to the surface of the housing 5 and facing the front seat 90, and a proximity duct 23 connecting the proximity introduction port 22 and the proximity blow-out port 20. After the vehicle is started, a heating operation of the proximity air-conditioning unit 2 is started first while a heating operation of the general air-conditioning unit 3 is stopped, and then the heating operation of the general air-conditioning unit 3 is started after a predetermined operation period has passed.
