Abstract:
The present invention relates to an air conditioner for a vehicle, in which, when a passenger on a rear seat wants a gentle breeze under a cooling mode condition of the vehicle interior, a refrigerant flow to a sub-evaporator side is blocked and air is blown to the rear seat only by the power of the air current of a blower fan, so that a reduction in total refrigerant flow volume and an excessive increase in the refrigerant pressure in the air conditioner, due to the blocking of the refrigerant flow to the sub-evaporator, can be prevented. The air conditioner for a vehicle comprises a refrigerant circulation line including a compressor, a condenser, a plurality of evaporators, and a plurality of expansion valves that depressurize and expand the refrigerant introduced in the respective evaporators, wherein: the evaporators comprise a main evaporator that operates by default in a cooling mode of the vehicle interior; and one or more sub-evaporators that operate as necessary; and under the cooling mode condition of the vehicle interior, a refrigerant flow controller, according to air conditioning mode states, blocks the introduction of a refrigerant in the sub-evaporator side, allows the introduction of the refrigerant to the sub-evaporator side, or moves the refrigerant before being introduced in the sub-evaporator side, along a preset path while bypassing it to a suction side of the compressor.
