Abstract:
Provided is an air conditioner having an excellent reliability and providing a comfortable state. The air conditioner sets a bypass defrost region and a reverse defrost region based on the temperature of the outdoor heat exchanger and the outdoor air temperature as parameters so as to appropriately use the bypass defrost method and the reverse defrost method. During a heating operation, the bypass defrost can be set easier for a shorter time than the reverse defrost. Thus, normally, the room temperature lowering upon defrost is suppressed by the bypass defrost and if necessary, the reverse defrost is executed. Thus, the bypass defrost and the reverse defrost are selectively used.
