Abstract:
Obtained is an air conditioner that has increased energy conservation performance by controlling the operation thereof in a manner so as to alter the rotational frequency of a blower fan to match environmental conditions. The present invention is provided with: a dehumidification means (5) that eliminates moisture contained in air; a blower means (2a) that comprises a motor and a blower fan and that sucks in in-room air and blows out into the room dry air obtained by passage through the dehumidification means (5); a humidity detection means (4) that detects the humidity of the in-room air; a temperature detection means (3) that detects the temperature of the in-room air; a surface temperature detection means (6) that detects the surface temperature within the room within a predetermined range; and a control means (7) that controls the temperature detection means (3) and the amount of blowing by the blower means (2a). The control means (7) performs a blowing operation that causes the blower means (2a) to operate for a predetermined period of time, detects in the predetermined range that an object to be dried such as wet clothing has been disposed from the surface temperature detected by the surface temperature detection means (6), and alters the rotational frequency of the blower fan during operation of the blower means (2a) in accordance with the detection results.
