Abstract:
The present invention relates to an air conditioner and, more particularly, to an air conditioner composed of a plurality of units including an outdoor unit and an indoor unit. The plurality of units each comprises: a control unit for controlling input and output and operating according to settings; and a communication unit for transmitting and receiving data between the plurality of units in a wireless communication manner. The communication unit comprises: a plurality of antenna connection units that are connected to a plurality of antennas, respectively; and a transmission/reception unit for applying a signal of a predetermined frequency band to the plurality of antennas through the plurality of antenna connection units and processing signals received from the plurality of antennas, wherein the communication unit includes the plurality of antennas and is configured to transmit and receive data via a multiple-input and multiple-output technique, such that the plurality of units can directly communicate with each other wirelessly, and multiple-input and multiple-output is performed by specifying a frequency of a signal to be used in consideration of obstacles in a building and installation distance and ensuring communication coverage by using the plurality of antennas, whereby stable communication is possible. Accordingly, the present invention has the effects of enhancing efficiency and stability of management and operation of an air conditioner.
