Abstract:
Provided is an air conditioner which, when a refrigerant piping system includes a plurality of indoor units, can suppress rapid leakage of a refrigerant, can ensure countermeasures/evacuation time during refrigerant leakage, and can guarantee the safety of a user. When a refrigerant leakage of an indoor unit 20 has been detected by a refrigerant leakage sensor 40, a control device 50: controls a liquid shut-off valve 34 and a gas shut-off valve 36 to be "closed," and drives a blower of the indoor unit 20 for which the refrigerant leakage is detected; and controls an indoor diaphragm device 22 of the indoor unit 20 for which refrigerant leakage has not been detected to be "closed" when the indoor unit 20 is in a cooling operation, and controls the indoor diaphragm device 20 to be "open" when the indoor unit 20 is in a heating operation.
