Abstract:
An air conditioning device (10) for vehicles, comprising: a particle detection unit (300) that detects particles in the air; a blower (250) that blows air towards a vehicle interior; and a control unit (140) that controls the operation of the blower. The particle detection unit has: a light emission unit (310) that emits light via a first lens (311); and a light reception unit (320) that receives, via a second lens (321), light that has been scattered by particles in air that passes through a detection area (DA), out of light that was emitted from the light emission unit. The control unit performs particle removal control whereby: the flowrate of air that passes through the detection area is increased by temporarily increasing the speed of the blower; and particles that have accumulated on the first lens or the second lens are blown off by the air.
