Title:
AIR CYCLE REFRIGERATING/COOLING SYSTEM AND TURBINE UNIT USED THEREFOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2007/023684
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An air cycle refrigerating/cooling system capable of providing stable high-speed rotation
by maintaining a space between each of the discs and the housing of a turbine unit
at the minimum, enabling an increase in the long-term durability and the life
of bearings supporting the spindle of the turbine unit, and enabling an increase in
the reliability of the system. The system compresses an inflow air by the compressor (6)
of the turbine unit (5) and adiabatically expands the compressed air by the expansion
turbine (7) of the turbine unit (5). In the turbine unit (5), the compressor disc
(6a) of the compressor (6) and the turbine disc (7a) of the expansion turbine (7)
are installed on a shared spindle (13). The spindle (13) is rotatably pivoted on
the bearings (15, 16), and a part or all of a thrust force applied to the spindle (13)
is pivoted by electromagnets (17).
