Abstract:
Provided is an airbag device for a vehicle, comprising: a housing provided in the backrest of a seat; an inflator which generates gas through ignition in response to a detection signal of a collision detection sensor when a vehicle collision occurs; and an airbag cushion which is accommodated in the housing in a rolled or folded state, and which receives the gas generated by the inflator when a vehicle collision occurs, so as to be inflated and deployed such that the upper body and the head of a passenger are covered, wherein the airbag cushion is inflated toward the rear side of the passenger from the backrest and then inflated and deployed forward along both side surfaces, so that a distance between the passenger and the backrest is compensated for when a vehicle collision occurs, and injury of the passenger, who rebounds because of a front airbag, due to a collision with the backrest can be prevented.
