Abstract:
Provided is an airbag formed by sewing opposing base fabric panels to each other with a broad tethering fabric for maintaining a predetermined thickness, wherein tearing of the sewn areas is reduced. This airbag is characterized: in that stitching between the base fabric panels and the tethering fabric includes a plurality of discrete rectilinear stitches along a virtual line extending in the width direction of the tethering fabric, and the ends of the rectilinear stitches have bends that bend by a prescribed angle and to a predetermined length from the virtual line toward a seam-allowance edge of the tethering fabric; or in that stitching between the base fabric panels and the tethering fabric includes a plurality of individual curved stitches that form protrusions on the opposite side from the seam-allowance edge of the tethering fabric, and the vertices of the plurality of individual curved stitches are on a virtual line extending in the width direction of the tethering fabric.
