Abstract:
Provided are bacteria that can utilize alginic acid, and a method for producing a target substance by using said bacteria according to a fermentation method. This method for producing a target substance comprises: culturing Vibrio bacteria having a target substance production capability and an alginic acid utilization capability in a culture medium that includes a carbon source obtained from seaweed; producing and accumulating the target substance in the culture medium; and recovering the target substance from the culture medium.
