Abstract:
The present invention provides: an alignment film which has excellent heat resistance and is capable of suppressing the occurrence of defects such as image burn-in and spots; and a liquid crystal display device which is provided with this alignment film.
An alignment film according to the present invention contains a copolymer that has a repeating structural unit represented by chemical formula (1). In the formula, X1 and X2 may be the same or different, and each represents a structure represented by one of chemical formulae (X-P1)-(X-P4) or the like; and Y represents a structure represented by one of chemical formulae (Y-P1)-(Y-P4) or the like.
