Abstract:

An alkoxysilane compound represented by general formula (I), a surface treatment fluid containing the same or a product of acidic treatment thereof, and a contact lens with its surface treated with the fluid, wherein R1 and R2 represent each -CH3 or -C2H5; X represents -COO- or -SO3-; p and n represent each an integer of 1 to 3; and q represents 0 or 1, provided p+q=3. This compound can impart hydrophilicity, etc., to the surfaces of various base materials and is utilizable in the fields of fiber, optical part, medical material, laboratory diagnostic drug, and so forth.
