Abstract:
Provided are: a catalyst for promoting an ammonia decomposition reaction, which comprises a mixture of a first catalyst powder comprising at least one support selected from the group consisting of silica, titania and others and a noble metal supported on the support and a second catalyst powder comprising a product produced by the ion exchange of at least one ion selected from the group consisting of a Fe ion and others into zeolite; and a method for detoxifying a gas to be treated, the method comprising performing a chemical reaction for converting NH3 contained in the gas into nitrogen and water and a chemical reaction for converting NOX and N2O contained in the gas into nitrogen and water in the presence of the catalyst.
