Abstract:

The invention aims at synthesizing novel amphiphilic compounds applicable to biosensors, drug delivery systems, or the like and providing them. Namely, compounds represented by the general formula (I) or hydrates or solvates thereof: (I) wherein R is -OH, -OCH₂C(OH)CH₂OH, or -OCH₂C[OCH₂C(OH)CH₂OH]CH₂O- CH₂C(OH)CH₂OH; and m and n are each independently an integer of 5 to 30.
