Title:
ANTENNA ASSEMBLY AND RADAR EMPLOYING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2005/114786
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A primary radiator (1) comprises a transmitting section (12) formed of a cylindrical waveguide extending in the direction parallel to the front direction of an antenna assembly, and a rectangular horn-shaped radiating section (11) extending in the direction perpendicular to the front direction. The end part of the primary radiator (1) not connected to the radiating section (11) of the transmitting section (12) is connected rotatably through a rotary joint (3) to a waveguide (5) having a central axis aligned with the extending direction of the transmitting section (12). A reflector (2) has a cup shape formed by gradually varying the diameter of a circle centering at the rotational axis of the primary radiator (1) along the direction of the rotational axis and has a reflective surface in the entire circumferential direction of the primary radiator (1). The reflector (2) is arranged in a specified attitude with respect to the primary radiator (1) so that a specified directivity is attained.
