Abstract:
The present invention relates to an anti-inflammatory composition containing 5-hydroxymaltol, and a composition for preventing, ameliorating, or treating inflammatory diseases, and according to the present invention, 5-hydroxymaltol inhibits NO generation, iNOS expression, and ROS accumulation, and controls signal transmission of MAPK, NF-κB, and Nrf-2/HO-1 to be effective as an anti-inflammatory agent, and thus can be effectively used in preventing, ameliorating, or treating inflammatory diseases.
