Description:

IMPROVEMENT IN ANTI-VANDALISM LOCKER FOR ELECTRICAL PANELS

Field of Invention

More particularly the present invention refers to a kit defined by a vertical locker activated by anti-vandalism locker. Such kit specially - designed to be mounted in doors of electric panels, also named sideboards and cabinets, where the kit at issue offers safe, efficient and fast means for locking and unlocking said door.

State of art

As it is known, there are several types of installation, which include compartments with doors so that it is possible to access to the equipment mounted inside such compartments. Normally, such compartments for a reason include one or more parts that must include a suitable system of locker not only for authorized access as well as avoiding possible attempts of vandalism.

A sector that highlights in such specifications are the manufacturers of electrical panels named sideboards or cabinets, however, all of them have equally internal and external details cooperative having special characteristics so that the kit may be used in different commercial and industrial sectors, for mounting a variety of components mechanical, electrical and electronic devices, whether they are for automation or for formation of units of an integrated system, low tension and others, such as it happens, for instance, in telecommunications, remarkably in mobile or fixed telephony sector.

Electrical panels may be outdoor (exposed to elements) or indoor (covered use). Logically in both cases, it is important the use of a kit of crossbar and locker to guarantee authorized access and stop possible vandalism. The Vandalism occurs more frequently in outdoor electrical panels, but, today there are many lockers designed for avoiding such destructive events, however, there are still some deficiencies in conventional lockers, not only as to external details, that generally offer means for allowing possible vandalisms, but also as to operation of the kit, since a considerable number of parts is activated by lock, and, thus, smooth sliding means for such components in usual systems are considerably not accurate and difficult the operations for opening (unlocking) and

closing (locking) the electrical panel door.

Objectives of Invention

The first objective of the present improvement is contemplating a system of double crossbar, i.e., two sliding rods mounted on the internal side of the door, among which there is a mechanism mounted of articulated pantographic so that they may move vertically said cross bars, and, further, such movement is done by a lock strategically mounted that presents two constructive versions, where he first is totally embedded and does not have a handle, while the other version includes the handle and a complementary for insertion in the safe lock.

The first constructive version includes an ordinarily tubular body with a finishing flange so that the second may be concluded in the external side of the door, while its tubular door extends inwards, forming a place for two cylindrical components in which the first is a ball joint that by its rear part is fixed in the core of those pantographic brackets, while on the front side presents a suitable groove for receiving a rotating tool such as a screwdriver, so that said ball joint may be rotated in both directions, for locking and unlocking the door. In front of said ball joint said tubular flange part remains with a certain internal long extension totally free, however, cooperative for receiving a cylinder lock and respective key, such cylinder that by handling the said key, may be locked inside said tubular body, where it functions as a real plug, which removal is only possible by using the correspondent key, Thus, the access to the ball joint component that comprise the interface between the key and the cross bar activation remains disabled to be accessed by a non authorized person and, further, in the front side of the door, all lock kit remains embedded, avoiding points that eventually could be supportive for vandalism attempt and, further, such embedded form also allows that all kit remains protected against elements and other external agents, main dust and humid,

In the second constructive version the same construction is kept for door locking rods, however, inside the tubular body, enters the cylindrical part of a handle in "L", which construction includes several details,

starting by its embedded cylindrical part, since this one has its distal edge coupled for rotating the core from said pantographic brackets that activate locking rods, while by opposite edge, besides being sided is integrated in a perpendicular way with the handle grip, where, further, its sided part is aligned with a protuberance as a block also sided that emerges from said finishing flange, such block is hollowed by a horizontal hole, and this way a crossbar being ordinarily U-shaped fits from up to down holding the handling sided and said block sided, and, in the latter, its transversal hole is concentric in relation to existent holes in edges that are distal from the U-shaped crossbar, allowing this and the first to be trespassed by a safety lock granting the kit means so that said handle may be kept locked by said lock, which removal also allows U-shaped crossbar removal, consequently the handle, becomes free to receive semi-rotations in both directions, consequently, the rods are vertically moved for locking or unlocking the door.

As it is observed, in this second constructive version, as well as in the first the rods slide inside the guides specially projected for allowing a smooth movement of the kit and also, said rods, in both cases, have at least two hooks that mesh with existent fixed parts existent in the corresponding part of the electrical panel.

It is observed that both constructive versions add details for characterizing a locking kit that is efficient and suitable for sideboards, cabinets or electric panels, whether they are indoor or outdoor, since in the first constructive version, the preponderant factor is a mounting fully embedded of the lock, which grants the kit great anti-vandalism characteristics, once there are no support externally so that eventual violations of the kit may be tried.

Detailed description of the invention

In accordance with these drawings and in details, the present Invention IMPROVEMENT IN ANTI-VANDALISM LOCKER FOR ELECTRICAL PANELS, such as figures 1 , 2 and 3, and it is to be used in different electrical panels (1), also named sideboards, cabinets and others, ordinarily parallelepipedic shaped, with all its sides closed by side (2), upper (3) and side walls as a base (4), including one or more doors (5) having its respective hinges (6) and, on the opposite side, initially, an internal service crossbar (7A-7B) and, over it and placed on the internal side of the door (5), there is mounted the lock kit (8).

The lock kit (8) is formed by two locking and unlocking symmetrical mechanisms as a figure 4 illustrates (9), vertically aligned inside which the rods are mounted in a slide way (10) with the respective claws (11 ), at least one of them, aligned to be coupled or not to the hitch (11 ') fixed in the cabinet correspondent parts (1), where, also, between both locking and unlocking symmetrical mechanisms (9) is mounted the kit of pantographic brackets (12) duly coupled for moving the rods (10) and, then, said kit of pantographic brackets presents a core coupled to driver (13) or lock itself, which activation through rotations clockwise or anticlockwise that allows the rods (10) to be vertically moved as to establish claws locking or unlocking (11) in the hitch elements (11 '), characterizing the door opening (unlock) or closure (locking) (5) of the cabinet (1 ).

Regarding to figures 5 and 6, each symmetrical

mechanism of locking and unlocking (9) consist of U-laid-shaped sliders (14), fixed against the internal sheet through screws and nuts and respective holes, so that inside each slider may be fitted a L-shaped mobile rod (10) , having a tail (15) fitted inside the slider (14), while the other tail (16) has at least one hook-shaped claw (11) fixed in its distal edge guided to be coupled or not in a hitch support (11 ') fixed in the part that corresponds to the sideboard (1), where further the internal tail (15) from said rod (10) presents, as well as near the edge, a route limiting rectangular window (17), where it is trespassed a screw (18) having its respective spacer washer (19) and nut (20), where said washer (19) presents a minor diameter (21) that adjusts inside said window (17) and allows the screw (18) to receive necessary tighten through the nut (20) in a hole (22) existent in the slider (14), where said rod (10) may be displaced upwards or downwards having as route limit the window (17), once inside of it the washer (19) minor diameter (21 ) is static.

As it has been said, between both locking and unlocking (9) symmetrical mechanisms there is the pantographic brackets (12), such figure 7 illustrates, where it is verified that it is formed by a pendulum intermediate plate (23), in which middle position the screws (23 ' ) grant means for being fixed in the back part of the driver (13), while its edges have coupling articulation (24) with correspondent edges of two N-shaped brackets (25), which opposed edges, also through other articulations (26) are coupled in the correspondents edges of the rods (10) and, thus, in such points, the sliders (14) have rectangular windows (16') which, besides forming access for articulations (26), are also route limiting and, further, such articulations have supports (27) for hitching the correspondent traction spring hitches (28) which opposite edges are coupled in other supports (29), but they are fixed in the sliders (14), consequently, said rod (10) is normally tensioned kept as to lock the kit.

The driver (13) is illustrated in details in figures 8 and 9, where it is verified that it comprises a ordinarily tubular body (30) with a finishing flange (31), so that the second one may be concluded in the external side of the door (5) and together with a boot (32) and a tool (33), while its tubular body

extends inwards said door, forming a place for both cylindrical components, in which the first is a ball joint (34) that, by the back part, is fixed to the core of such pantographic brackets through screws (23'), while by the front side presents a suitable male or a female groove (35) for receiving a point of any rotating tool, such as a screwdriver, so that said ball joint (34) may be rotated in both directions, for locking and unlocking the door (5) of the cabinet (1). In front of said ball joint (34) such flange tubular part (30) remains with a long internal extension totally free, however, cooperative for receiving another component ordinarily as a tubular shirt (36) fixed by side pins (37), so that inside such tubular part (36) a cylinder (38) and usual respective key (39) may be inserted, such cylinder that by handling said key may be locked inside the tubular body (36) that, thus, presents hole (40) for receiving a retractile pin of locking (41) of said cylinder that, further, presents a side channel (42) so that its insertion may be guided together with a radial pin (43) inserted in the tubular part (36), where it functions as a real plug, such as showed in 10. Thus, the ball joint component access is fully obstructed by the cylinder (38) the access to the ball joint component (34) which consists of the fitting point of the tool (screwdriver, for instance) for activating the crossbars (10), consequently, the kit cannot be accessed by a non authorized person, and, further, in the frontal side of the door, all lock kit remains embedded, avoiding points that could eventually serving of support for vandalism attempt, as well as being this way embedded, it allows the whole kit remains protected from elements and other external agents, mainly dust and humidity.

Regarding to a figure 11 , it is observed that the removal of the cylinder (38) it is just possible to be done with its corresponding key (39) and, when done, the internal part of the tubular body (30), more precisely the shirt (36), becomes totally free, exposing then, the groove (35) from ball joint part (34) which, thus, may be activated by any tool (a screw driver, for instance) so that the ball joint part (34) may be rotated in both directions and, then, lock or unlock the door of the cabinet.

In another constructive version, as figures 12 and 13 illustrate, the lock at issue presents the same locking mechanism, that is, the

same construction is maintained for both locking and unlocking symmetrical mechanisms (9), vertically aligned, inside which the rods (10) are mounted in a slide way with respective claws (11) aligned to be coupled or not to hitch elements (11 ') fixed in the correspondent parts of the cabinet (1), where, further, between both locking and unlocking symmetrical mechanisms (9) there is the kit of pantographic brackets (12) mounted, properly coupled for moving the rods (10) and, thus, said kit of pantographic brackets are coupled to the driver (13), which activation by clockwise and anticlockwise rotations allow the rods (10) to be vertically moved as to establish the locking or unlocking claws (1 1 ) in the hitch elements (11'), characterizing the opening (unlock) or closure (locking) of the door (5) of the cabinet (1 ).

In this constructive version, as figures 14 and 15 illustrate, the driver (13) is formed by a tubular body (44) with flange (45), so that according to what may be concluded in the external side of the door (5) together with a tool (46), while its tubular (44) extends inwards the said door, forming a place for inserting the cylindrical part (47) of a L-shaped handle (48), which construction includes several details, starting by its cylindrical embedded part (47), since it has its distal edge coupled in such plate (23) by the respective screws (23') and together with sliding rings (47A) and respective ducts (47B), in order to rotate the core from said pantographic brackets (12) that activate the locking rods (10), where this rotation angle, whether clockwise or anticlockwise, is limited by ducts (49) existent in the cylindrical part (47), and, inside said duct radial pins (50) are fitted being craved in holes (51) from the tubular body (44).

The front edge of said cylindrical part (47) is sided (52) and is aligned over a block-shaped protuberance (53) identically sided that emerges from said flange (45) and under the tubular body (44), such block is hollowed by a horizontal hole (54) and, thus, a U-shaped crossbar (55) is believable to be fitted and unfitted from top to bottom holding the sided part (52) from the handle (48) and the sided part of said block (53) and, the latter, its transversal hole (54) is concentric in relation to the holes (56) existent in the distal edges from the U-shaped locking (55), allowing that this one and the first to be

trespassed by a safe padlock (57), granting to the kit means so that said handle may be kept locked by said safe padlock, which removal also allows removal of the U-crossbar, consequently, the handle becomes free in order to receive semi- rotations in both directions, consequently, the rods are vertically moved in order to lock and unlock the door, that is, by moving the handle (48) in a angle way, its cylindrical body (47) is also rotated and, with it said plate (23) is rotated in an angle limited by the duct (49), in both clockwise and anticlockwise way, consequently, the rods (10) are moved in a sliding way inside the sliders (14) characterizing the locking or unlocking of the door, logically such operation is possible only after the safe padlock (57) and U-shaped crossbar (55) have been removed.

Therefore, in accordance with what have been exposed and illustrated, it may be observed the present lock kit presents the system of rods of locking, but with different mechanisms of activation, where the first one with said cylinder add different advantages to be used in outdoor electrical panels, since, externally, they do not present protuberant parts which eventually could facilitate possible attempts of vandalism. The other constructive version, although presenting protuberant parts, once it uses a L-shaped handle, also consists of details which only allow authorized access, characterizing an ideal kit for indoor electrical panels indoor, although its use in outdoor panels may also be possible.
