Abstract:

[PROBLEMS] To provide: an antibacterial fiber having an excellent antibacterial activity and capable of keeping the antibacterial activity for a prolonged period; a method for producing the fiber; an antibacterial fiber product comprising the antibacterial fiber, which has an excellent antibacterial activity and can keep the antibacterial activity for a prolonged period; a method for producing the product; and a method for reproducing the product. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] Disclosed is an antibacterial fiber having anionic functional groups, wherein at least a part of the anionic functional groups forms a quaternary ammonium salt, and at least another part of the anionic functional groups forms an antibacterial metal salt. The quaternary ammonium salt is preferably a cetylpyridinium salt. The antibacterial metal salt is preferably a zinc salt. The fiber is preferably a carboxyalkylated cellulose fiber. Also disclosed is an antibacterial fiber product comprising the antibacterial fiber.
