Abstract:
Provided is a highly hot water-proof antibacterial treating agent that is capable of preventing a plumbing member, such as a drainage member provided in a kitchen sink or bathroom drain port, from slime and sludge over a long period of time.
The antibacterial treating agent comprises a quaternary ammonium salt (A) represented by formula (1) and a polyvalent carboxylic acid (B) that carries a hydrocarbon group having 6 or more carbon atoms and a carboxyl group having 2 or more carbon atoms.
In formula (1): R1 represents an alkyl group having 16-18 carbon atoms; R2A, R2B, R4A, R4B and R4C independently represent an alkyl group having 1-3 carbon atoms; R3 represents an alkylene group having 1-4 carbon atoms; and X represents a halogen atom.
