Title:
ANTICORROSIVE PIGMENT
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2005/010103
Kind Code:
A2
Abstract:
The inventive can be used for the paint-and-varnish industry. The inventive anticorrosive pigment is embodied in the form of calcium molybdate phosphate at the ratio between molibdate ions and phosphate ions ranging from 1:0.01 to 1:100. In order to produce said pigment, calcium carbonate is mixed with water, agitated during 1 hour at a temperature of 95 °C. During intensive agitation, a solution containing ammonium permolybdate and ortho-phosphoric acid is gradually added to the thus obtained suspension. All components being introduced, the agitation is carried out during 5 hours. Afterwards, the suspension is dried at 380 °C. The thus produced pigment has a white-brilliant colour, is less water-soluble than calcium phosphate-chromate, non-toxic and the anticorrosive properties thereof are not impaired when chromate ions are substituted by molibdate ions.
