Abstract:
Provided is an antifouling coating composition containing a triorganosilyl ester copolymer, the composition giving a coating film which retains a high dissolution rate in seawater over a long period and can retain stable antifouling performance without suffering any abnormality such as cracking.
The present invention provides an antifouling coating composition which comprises
(A) a triorganosilyl ester copolymer obtained from a mixture of (a) a triorganosilyl (meth)acrylate monomer represented by general formula (1) with (b) an ethylenically unsaturated monomer copolymerizable with the triorganosilyl (meth)acrylate monomer and
(B) a siloxane compound comprising a C1-4 alkoxy group and a siloxane skeleton (the siloxane skeleton having 5-100 Si atoms).
(In formula (1), R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, and R2, R3, and R4 are the same or different and each represent an α-position-branched C3-6 alkyl group or a phenyl group.)
