Abstract:
The present invention provides an antifouling coating composition capable of forming an antifouling coating that is excellent in both general static antifouling properties and static antifouling properties after long dynamic immersion and that is excellent in both adhesion to a former antifouling coating, and adhesion to an undercoat coating and to an intermediate coating and peel resistance against an undercoat coating and against an intermediate coating. The antifouling coating composition according to the present invention contains (A) a hydrolyzable polymer containing a metal ester group, (B) medetomidine, (C) tralopyril, (D) copper pyrithione, and (E) a linear or branched alkyl carboxylic acid having 4-30 carbon atoms, wherein the polymer (A) includes a constituent unit derived from a metal ester group-containing monomer (a1) represented by formula (1) below and/or a constituent unit derived from a metal ester group-containing monomer (a2) represented by formula (2) below. In formula (1), R11s each independently represent a monovalent group containing a terminal ethylenically unsaturated group, and M represents copper or zinc. In formula (2), R21 represents a monovalent group containing a terminal ethylenically unsaturated group, R22 represents a monovalent organic group containing no terminal ethylenically unsaturated group and having 1-30 carbon atoms, and M represents a copper atom or a zinc atom.
