Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an antifouling paint composition which can form an antifouling coating which has excellent long-term antifouling performance and which maintains the aesthetic appearance expected of a coating even when directly coated over an old antifouling coating that has been exposed to water over long period of time and that contains a fragile layer from which the antifouling agent components have eluted; and to provide an antifouling coating, a substrate with the antifouling coating, a production method thereof, and a repair method of the old antifouling coating. This antifouling paint composition contains (A) a silyl ester copolymer and (B) a rosin and/or monocarboxylic acid compound, wherein the acid value of the solid content of the (A) silyl ester copolymer is 0.1-10 mgKOH/g, the silyl ester copolymer (A) has constituent units derived from triisopropylsilyl methacrylate (a1) and constituent units derived from ethylenically unsaturated monomers other than the triisopropylsilyl methacrylate (a1); the content of the (B) rosin and/or monocarboxylic acid compound is less than or equal to 100 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of solid content of (A) the silyl ester copolymer. Furthermore, an antifouling coating formed from said antifouling paint composition, a substrate covered by said antifouling coating, a production method thereof, and a repair method of an old antifouling coating are provided.
