Title:
ANTISLIP INSERT FOR STAIR NOSINGS AND SIMILAR ELELEMNTS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2004/044346
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An antislip insert (1) with a trapezoid outline and a rough external surface is adapted to be seated on a recess of a fixing moulding. To secure this insert against falling out of the moulding it is suggested that the moulding comprises a lengthwise groove (2) on its lower side, said groove being finished with a widening (3), preferably with a triangle profile, and said groove (2) being adapted to be seated on a protrusion extending from the recess of the fixing moulding, wherein said protrusion of the fixing moulding has a widening that corresponds with the shape of the groove (2) in the insert (1). In preferred embodiments, the insert comprises protrusions (7) and/or symmetrical shoulders (8) and the fixing moulding comprises channels with a corresponding shape for receiving said protrusions or shoulders.

Description:
ANTISLIP INSERT FOR STAIR NOSINGS AND SIMILAR ELEMENTS The subject of the invention is an antislip insert used in such construction elements as protective mouldings for stair nosings, stair landings, terraces and in threshold mouldings of wheelchair ramps.

The patent description DE 3638485 describes a protective mouldings for a stair nosing. An edge moulding has a lengthwise recess with an outline resembling a trapezoid with a lower wider base which houses an antislip insert with a rough corrugated surface.

Due to a small height of the antislip insert it tends to slide out of a recess in the protective moulding.

The invention consists in that the antislip insert on its lower side has a lengthwise groove finished with a widening, preferably with a triangle outline. The groove is used to seat the insert on a protrusion extending from a wide groove of the fixing moulding. The protrusion has a widening that corresponds with the shape of the groove in the insert. The protrusion in the fixing moulding cooperates with the groove in the insert, effectively securing the insert against falling out of the fixing moulding. Preferably, the groove is placed symmetrically in the axis of the insert. Preferably, the insert has at least one protrusion with a parallelogram profile, increasing the outline of the insert at the edges of the recess in the fixing moulding. In that case the fixing moulding has suitable channels that correspond with the shape of the insert. At the groove, the insert has symmetric shoulders, preferably with an outline of a rectangular trapezoid.

The solution provided in the invention allows for secure fastening of the antislip insert in the groove of fixing mouldings which are used as protection of stair nosings and threshold mouldings of wheelchair ramps.

The subject of the invention is shown as after assembly in the drawings, wherein Fig.

1 shows a front view of the insert, Fig. 2-a front view of the fixing moulding that protects a stair nosing and Fig. 3-a front view of a flat threshold moulding.

The antislip insert 1 with a rough corrugated external surface has a lengthwise groove 2 on its lower side finished with the widening 3 with a triangle profile. The widening may also have a lenticular profile, ball profile or another profile which secures the insert against falling out of the groove in the fixing moulding. The insert 1 is seated on the trapezoid-shaped recess in the fixing moulding 5 with the extending protrusion 4 with the widening 6 with a triangle profile that corresponds with the shape of the groove 2 in the antislip insert. The insert as after assembly has also protrusions 7 with a parallelogram profile, increasing the outline of the insert at the edges of the recess in the fixing moulding, which has suitable channels 9 and shoulders 8 with an outline of a rectangular trapezoid, places at the groove 2 which increase the strength of the insert and the fixing board has channels 10 that correspond with the shape of the shoulder.
