Abstract:
An antitumor agent comprising a substance extracted from the seeds of Aeginetia indica L. and having an activity of inducing interleukin-2 and interferon-gamma and exhibiting such an excellent antitumor action that all of the six control mice (DELTA) died of tumor 17 days after tumor transplantation, whereas each of the mice to which this agent had been administered intraperitoneally in a dose of 0.6 mg/kg ($(1,3)$), 1.2 mg/kg (+) or 2.5 mg/kg ($(1,3)$) at intervals of two days after tumor transplantation had an increased survival rate.
