Abstract:

A flexible substrate (1) is transferred upright in the first direction (F) or the second direction (R). A position control apparatus (30) is provided with first and second roller pairs (31, 32) which sandwich the upper end portion of the substrate (1). The first roller pair (31) is tilted at an angle (α) with respect to the first direction (F). The second roller pair (32) is tilted at an angle (α) with respect to the second direction (R). When the substrate (1) is transferred in the first direction (F), the second roller pair (32) is switched to a state where the second roller pair does not sandwich the substrate (1). When the substrate (1) is transferred in the second direction (R), the first roller pair (31) is switched to a state where the roller pair does not sandwich the substrate (1). Sandwiching pressure of both the roller pairs (31, 32) may be adjustable. Apparatus (30, 30') may be provided with two roller pairs (31', 32') that sandwich the lower end portion of the substrate (1). The substrate (1) may be a plastic film.
