Title:
APPARATUS FOR CONVERTING PLANT MATERIAL INTO UNICELLULAR FORM AND METHOD OF PRODUCING UNICELLULAR PLANT
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2008/007672
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
It is intended to provide an apparatus whereby a unicellular plant having excellent qualities can be efficiently produced and a method of producing the same. This apparatus has an enzymatic treatment unit whereby a plant material to be treated is converted into the unicellular form through an enzymatic treatment. This enzymatic treatment unit comprises an outer pipe, an inner pipe which is located in the outer pipe and from which a liquid mixture containing the material to be treated and an enzyme is supplied, an enzymatic treatment temperature-controlling section whereby a heating medium is introduced into the gap between the outer pipe and the inner pipe so as to maintain the inside of the inner pipe at a temperature appropriate for the enzymatic treatment, an agitation member which is held in the inner pipe in a manner allowing rotation around the axis, and a flow rate-controlling section whereby the flow rate of the liquid mixture flowing from one end of the inner pipe toward the other end is controlled.
