Abstract:
An apparatus for automatically detecting a slip of a vehicle. A theoretical turning speed omegat of a vehicle (1) the wheels or roller belts of which do not slip at all on the road surface on which the vehicle travels is computed on the basis of the outputs v_, PHI from a vehicle speed sensor (5) and a steering angle sensor (4). An actual turning angular speed omegar of the vehicle (1) is computed on the basis of the output of a posture angle sensor (6). Slip of the vehicle is detected on the basis of the difference between these two turning angular speeds omegat, omegar. This prevents deviation from the course of a vehicle, and the safety is significantly improved.
