Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for continuously preparing formic acid by using an immobilized carbon dioxide reductase. Since an electrochemical reactor for producing a reduced electron carrier and an enzyme reactor for converting carbon dioxide into formic acid are separated from each other, scaling up in the future poses no problem, and thus scaling up of formic acid production is advantageous. In addition, formic acid produced using an ion exchange resin column is isolated and recovered so that deterioration in production can be prevented, and thus formic acid can be continuously produced, and separately adjusting pH is unnecessary.
