Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for controlling the opening/closing of a side door of a vehicle. The apparatus for controlling the opening/closing of the side door comprises: an object detection unit for detecting whether an object exists and the distance of the object from said side door when same is opened; a door movement stopping unit for stopping an opening/closing movement of said side door; and a control unit for controlling said door movement stopping unit to stop the opening/closing movement of said side door when said object is detected within a predetermined distance from said side door according to the detection results of said object detection unit.
