Abstract:
A method of cutting a generally elongated food product comprising creating a fluid vortex in a container, the vortex having an axis substantially centered on the outlet of the container. The generally elongated food product is deposited into the container. The fluid vortex aligns the generally elongated food product with the axis of the vortex and directs the generally elongated food product into the outlet to a product slicing element to form a plurality of sliced products. An apparatus for cutting a generally elongated food product and a method for washing a food product in a first container, slicing the food product to form a plurality of sliced products and washing the sliced products in a second container are provided.
