Abstract:
Conventionally, DXN detrimental to the human body has been generated in the disposal of wastes containing organic compounds. This invention aims at providing an apparatus, and method for disposing of the wastes without generating DXN. The fundamental construction of this apparatus is as follows: (a) a feeder for supplying wastes containing organic compounds, equipped with means for preventing intrusion of air; (b) a gasifying apparatus including combustion means for generating a combustion gas substantially free from oxygen and means for discharging ash while preventing intrusion of air, in order to thermally decompose the wastes containing organic compounds which are supplied from the feeder; (c) heat recovery means for recovering sensible heat of the gas generated by the gasifying apparatus; (d) purification means for removing detrimental components from the gas from the heat recovery means; and (e) dust removing means for removing dust from the gas from the purification means. The method of the present invention comprises: (a) the step of supplying wastes containing organic compounds while preventing intrusion of air; (b) the step of thermally decomposing the supplied wastes by a combustion gas substantially free from oxygen while preventing intrusion of air, and discharging ash while preventing intrusion of air; (c) the step of recovering sensible heat of the gas generated in the above steps; (d) the step of purification by removing detrimental components from the gas the heat of which has been recovered; and (e) the step of removing dust from the gas.
