Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for removing VOC in polypropylene by means of a steam method and decreasing an odor level. The apparatus comprises: a cyclone separator configured to separate polypropylene particles and conveying air from an upstream air conveying system; a preheating tower communicated with a discharge port of the cyclone separator, the preheating tower being provided with a first steam inlet, and the preheating tower being provided with a tail gas outlet at the top of the preheating tower; and a devolatilization tower communicated with a discharge port of the preheating tower, the body of the devolatilization tower being provided with a second steam inlet, a steam outlet being provided at the top of the devolatilization tower, and the steam outlet being communicated with the first steam inlet. Characteristics that water has a low boiling point and interaction with non-polar polypropylene molecules is weak are utilized, such that a complete set of technique of removing VOC in polypropylene particles by means of a steam method and decreasing an odor level is developed.
