Abstract:
The present invention relates to an ion transport apparatus, and in particular, to an apparatus and method for storing and transporting positive and negative ions. The apparatus comprises a conductive wire electrode, a perforated insulating plate, a fixed tensile device, and an axial field electrode. By means of the apparatus, positive and negative ions are respectively stored in either end of cavity, and the positive ions or the negative ions are extracted as needed. The apparatus greatly improves the utilization efficiency of positive and negative ions, and can effectively improve the sensitivity.
