Abstract:
The present invention relates to an open/shut apparatus for a portable phone. It is an aim of the present invention to provide an open/shut apparatus for a portable phone, which interconnects a unit with a keypad having a plurality of keys and a unit with a display such that the two units slide relative to each other to open/shut the portable phone, and which enables the two units to be movable in both directions when the portable phone is shut. The open/shut apparatus of the present invention enables a user to conveniently use the portable phone as the two units of the portable phone are movable in both directions as well as in a single direction even when the portable phone is shut. To accomplish the above aim, the open/shut apparatus for a portable phone according to the present invention comprises a fixed member fixed on an upper surface of a first unit, a movable member arranged at a rear surface of a second unit such that the movable member is attachable to the second unit and both sides of the movable member are slidably inserted into both inner surfaces of the fixed member, and an elastic means, both ends of which are rotatably connected to the respective fixed member and the movable member to provide elastic force to the second unit when the second unit slides in an upward or downward direction relative to the first unit.
