APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING COMPUTERISED X-RAY IMAGES AND METHOD FOR REALISING THE SAME

The present invention relates to the use of a standard medical X-ray apparatus which can provide computerised images on a computer screen or simply on paper. To this end, the apparatus is not connected to a photographic magazine but to a unit (11) which is located on the plate (12) and comprises a luminescent screen (5), an electronic camera (6), a mirror (7) and an objective lens (8). The apparatus co-operates with a computer system (9) as well as with a video monitor (10). The operation principle of the present apparatus includes projecting an image from the luminescent screen (5) onto the matrix of the electronic camera (6), and converting this image into electrical signals so as to generate an image on the computer display as well as on the video monitor (10). The apparatus of the present invention can be used for printing an X-ray image on simple paper as well as for recording said image in a special data bank and in the computer memory. The method for producing computerised X-ray images comprising synchronising the operation of the electronic camera (6) and the X-ray source (1). To this end, the moment when the source (1) is switched on is determined using a software so that the camera is switched on for exposure before the beginning of the X-ray exposure. The exposure duration during which the image electronic signal builds up in the camera is determined by parameters established using a control pad as well as by the computer software.
