The present application relates to the field of communications, and in particular to an application management method, an electronic device and a readable storage medium. The method comprises: detecting a first user operation on a first application, wherein the first user operation is used for instructing the switching of the state of the first application from an available state to a disabled state; switching the first application to the disabled state, retaining a first-type module of the first application, and deleting a second-type module of the first application; detecting a second user operation on the first application, wherein the second user operation is used for instructing the switching of the state of the first application from the disabled state to the available state; running the first application on the basis of the retained first-type module, and installing the deleted second-type module; and switching the first application to the available state. By means of the solution of the present application, the memory space of an electronic device can be saved on during the freezing of an application, and when a user needs to use the application again, the application can be started, and the waiting time of the user can be reduced, thereby facilitating an improvement in the user experience.
