Abstract:
An application program uninstall method and apparatus. The method comprises: receiving, by an electronic device, an uninstall instruction for a target application program (S101); deleting a specific directory, corresponding to the target application program, in a local device according to the received uninstall instruction (S102); extracting an identifier of the target application program (S103); in a local pre-set directory residual database, searching whether directory data corresponding to the identifier exists or not (S104), the directory data at least comprising a path of the directory; if the directory data exists, deleting a directory, corresponding to the path of the searched directory, in the local device according to a searching result (S105). According to the method, when the specific directory corresponding to the uninstalled application program is deleted, other directories, different from the specific directory, corresponding to the uninstalled application program are also deleted, so that after the uninstall of the application program is completed, file residue is avoided, and the occupation of the device storage space is reduced.
