Abstract:
Provided is an environment-friendly aqueous ink binder component that can form a dry coating that is an image or the like and that has excellent abrasion resistance and adhesiveness even with respect to base materials, such as polypropylene-based base materials and polyethylene-based base materials, on which it is generally difficult to form a coating that has high adhesiveness. This aqueous ink binder component is an A-B block copolymer that includes a structural unit derived from a biological material-derived methacrylate in an amount not less than 80 mass% and a structural unit derived from isobornyl methacrylate in an amount not less than 40 mass%, that has a number average molecular weight of 10,000-23,000, an acid value of 25-100 mgKOH/g, and a glass transition temperature of 90°C or higher, and that includes a water-insoluble polymer chain A and a polymer chain B that includes a structural unit derived from a methacrylic acid.
