The present invention addresses the problem of providing an aqueous ink which is capable of forming a clear print image without causing decrease in the print quality due to uneven drying of ink (mottling) even in cases where continuous printing is performed for a long period of time and in cases where printing is resumed after an interruption of several minutes to several hours. The present invention relates to an aqueous ink which contains an acetylene surfactant (A), a nonionic surfactant (B) other than the acetylene surfactant (A), and an aqueous medium (C), and which is characterized in that the nonionic surfactant (B) contains a nonionic surfactant that satisfies one or more requirements among the following three requirements: (i) the nonionic surfactant has an HLB of less than 13.5; (ii) the nonionic surfactant has a clouding point of 75°C or less; and (iii) the nonionic surfactant has no clouding point.
